Mr. Yo IIDA is the Director-General of National Mapping Department, Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI).
Since he started his geospatial career at GSI in 1998, he has been mainly in charge of mapping, promoting the utilization of geospatial information, and providing geospatial information.
In particular, he has spent a great deal of time stabilizing the entire process from updating digital maps of Japan to providing them to the public and has been committed to the launch of the "Digital Topographic Map" series, including Digital Topographic Map 25000 providing up-to-date maps on demand, and the operation of their systems.
He has also been engaged in the international standardization of geospatial information at ISO for many years and has contributed to the distribution of geospatial information in Japan which is conformable to these standards.
His significant contributions have made continuously updated digital maps available to everyone in Japan.
